The Peruvian 'Life' fish creature

This personal project is inspired by the anthropomorphic creatures of the Mochica culture. Inhabiting the northern coast of Peru between 100 and 800 CE, the Mochicas were master potters and goldsmiths. Their incredibly rich iconography reflects a highly sophisticated, complex civilization.
The 'life' fish is a very representative icon for ancient coastal civilizations of Peru because it appears in the summer solstice coinciding with the time of rain and flooding.
